My name is Rodrigo Arce, I am 20 years old, I am a 3rd year Computer Engineering student. I do projects related to robotics, aeronautics and aerospace engineering fields. I often engage with R&D projects.

Also, I love art. I like writting, reading, basic drawing and I play the bass guitar.

Sensors and Telemetry Team Leader - Rover Poás

July 2024 - Present

Engaged in research and development projects focusing on robotics, aeronautics, and aerospace engineering. Contributed to innovative solutions combining hardware and software.

Participated in creation of Rover Poás project, which is a Rover designed to collect samples from a volcano. In this case, Poas volcano. It is controlled by radiofrequencies and uses FPV technology.

Worked on embedded systems, RF device management, Arduino and Raspberry Pi development.
Organized Sensors and Telemetry team, by making reunions and distributing work.
Applied engineering knowledge related to electronics, telecommunications and computer science.

I participated in a hackathon where we had to build a RC plane in 18 hours.

I created with a friend a football game simulator that connected wirelessly with a football field model.

I've done some games. This is a Bomberman NES recreation using python, using recursive programming.

Rover Poás

This is rover project designed to collect samples in a volcano. I am the Sensors and Telemetry team leader, so I am in charge of organizing and developing the electronics and coding part of the rover.

Open Source development

The vast majority of my projects are open source. I constantly contribute to Open Source projects and work with many people.

Rocketry

I use OpenRocket and design some rockets. I learned this in a rocketry course!
